The last of Providence Health Care’s services will be brought on board CST Cerner on Monday, December 5.
This upcoming go-live at Richmond, Squamish and qathet community dialysis units (CDUs) will bring to a close the implementation phase of Providence’s CST journey, which began in November of 2019. Providence’s remaining long term care homes, clinics and services have been added to the system in a series of cycles that began in late 2020 and continued throughout 2021 and 2022.
Having the entire organization on the same system will support seamless, safe and consistent care across the organization, with real-time access to client information at the point-of-care. It will also improve connectivity with PHSA and VCH sites that are already live on CST Cerner. This includes BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre, BC Cancer – Vancouver, BCMHSUS Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health & Addiction, Coastal hospitals including Lions Gate, Squamish, Pemberton, Whistler and Sechelt, and most recently, Vancouver General Hospital and ~50 of its priority clinics.
Thank you to the staff and medical staff in these CDUs for undertaking training and preparations in addition to your regular workload. We look forward to having you onboard!
