Providence people who recently marked significant career milestones were celebrated at a virtual recognition event this week alongside individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to our organization.
On Thursday, June 10, the Mission Integration & Culture team hosted the annual Long Service and Mission Awards Recognition Event. PHC people gathered virtually to celebrate more than 1,000 staff, medical staff, and volunteers for their 15,685 cumulative years of service. The event also honoured our PHC Mission Award recipients and shared stories of the incredible people who demonstrate our Mission, Vision and Values every day.
Our returning hosts, Melodie Yong, Regional Manager – Culture and Communications, HIM; and Christopher De Bono, Vice-President – Mission, Organizational Development & Ethics, were gala-ready and kept the show rolling while transporting us back in time with music, background photos and trivia from decades past.
Thank you to Musqueam Elder Shane Pointe (Ti’ te-in) for opening the event, and to Providence Health Care Society Chair, Mark Spelliscy, and PHC President & CEO, Fiona Dalton, for providing remarks.
And a special thank you to everyone involved in our Long Service and Mission Awards event, especially the Mission Integration & Culture and Media Services teams, who worked so hard to make this virtual event a success.
We were honoured to celebrate extraordinary people in extraordinary times. It is the everyday contributions of our staff, medical staff and volunteers that strengthen and sustain our foundational Mission, Vision and Values. People are, and always will be, at the heart of everything we do.
Congratulations to everyone celebrating career milestones with PHC, and to our 2021 Mission Award recipients!
We’d also like to congratulate the viewers who successfully answered trivia questions on Slido during the event. The following staff have all won Starbucks gift cards:
