As of May 23, the Patient Virtual Health Tech Support desk (formerly the Citizen Support desk) has extended their hours to better support patients using Zoom or BC Virtual Visits. The new hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
During those times, patients can call 1-844-442-4433 (toll-free) for technical support for Zoom and BC Virtual Visits.
The support desk is not only for patients who require in-the-moment support during their virtual health visit. Support desk staff are available to help with technical support, camera and microphone set up, and perform a “test” call with patients ahead of their scheduled appointment.
It is recommended that clinicians encourage their patients to call the support desk the day before their scheduled appointment and try a test visit to avoid the stress last minute tech set-up can cause.
Along with extended hours, the support desk received a new name: Patient Virtual Healthcare Tech Support. Previously known as the Citizen Support Desk since its inception in August 2020, the new name better reflects the users and the purpose of the help desk.
