A new intake and prioritization process is being implemented at Providence Health Care to support both local and enterprise CST Cerner system change requests.
Beginning Thursday September 29, 2022, CST Cerner users who would like to request a change in the system are invited to fill out the new CST Cerner Change Request e-form, located on connect.
Once completed, the e-form will be sent to a PHC Clinical Informatics Specialist who will investigate the request. The submitting user can review the status of the request through their manager or program delegate that has access to the JIRA dashboard.
There are three types of change requests that users can submit:
1. Standard Requests: A change is required in CST Cerner in order to continue to provide the same care or keep the business running as usual.
(e.g. – adding a new resource or appointment to a scheduling book)
2. Change Requests: An enhancement or moderate change in the system is requested as a result of operational, practice or quality improvement optimization.
(e.g. – adding a new field to a PowerForm)
3. Initiatives: Significant resources and/or work effort required including software/hardware or infrastructure changes.
(e.g. – a program would like to start using nursing documentation)
