Did you know LED lights use 50 to 70 per cent less energy compared to older lighting technology?
Last year at St. Paul’s Hospital, we swapped all of the fluorescent lightbulbs in stairwells, elevator lobbies and corridors for their more environmentally friendly counterparts – LED’s.
That’s 7,113 lightbulbs, and according to the Facilities Team, a savings of 1,800MWh of energy every year! Aka, a substantive decrease in CO2 emissions, which is better for the planet and better for our health.
Expanding our efforts involves you!
Next up on the list? Offices at MSJ and SPH–especially those that are occupied 24/ 7– and we need your help.
It’s simple to do:
1. Scan the QR code or click here to complete the light fixture request form.
2. Submit your room number and location.
3. Pat yourself on the back for making the switch and thank the Facilities Team as they take care of the rest!
Bonus step: Help spread the word by displaying this poster in your work area.
Submissions are accepted until Friday, April 14.
