Staff and tenants at St. Vincent’s: Honoria Conway came together on November 6 to share their visions for the future of Providence Health Care.

The recent Town Hall meeting at the assisted living residence kicked off a series of facilitated engagement sessions across PHC where employees, patients, residents, family members, clinicians, researchers and volunteers are invited to weigh in on the creation of a new 7-year strategic plan (2019-2026) for the organization.

At Honoria Conway, 18 people gathered to share their ideas. Two major themes dominated the session: What makes PHC unique and irreplaceable? And how can we make PHC the best place where the best people want to work?

Based on the discussion, it’s clear that the organization’s Mission, Vision and Values are held in high regard at Honoria Conway and contribute to a unique sense of identity.

“The mission makes you feel like you’re working towards something, together,” commented Franca, an activity coordinator.

Other participants described the Honoria Conway community as a welcoming, homey and close-knit place where staff and tenants are involved in decision making, planning and recruitment.

“Working here is like working with family,” commented Daniel, an assisted living employee.

Mary, an LPN, echoed his sentiment: “It’s a nice feeling going to work and it doesn’t feel a chore,” she said.

One tenant noted that when guests come to visit, they are always impressed with the site and could see themselves living in the same place one day.

Thanks to everyone who attended for sharing your valuable thoughts and opinions — here’s to planning Providence 2026, together!
