This year’s winners were chosen for their response to the need for staff to find more balance through flexible workplace models and generous time off.
For the third consecutive year, and ninth year overall, Providence is proud to be one of BC’s Top Employers. In another year where the pandemic has been at the forefront of our professional and personal lives, this year’s competition highlights organizations that responded to the need for staff to find more balance through flexible workplace models and generous time off.
Mediacorp Canada Inc., organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project that facilitates the regional competition, announced the results earlier this week. “Since the pandemic, the need for employees to balance their work commitments with personal time has never been greater,” said Richard Yerema, Managing Editor at Mediacorp. “Employers are navigating permanent changes to the workplace – and hybrid workplaces that focus on flexibility are very much front-and-centre at forward-thinking employers.”
President and CEO Fiona Dalton thanks our staff for making Providence an exceptional place to work especially during another extremely difficult year. “To be recognized as one of BC’s Top Employers is a credit to everyone who works here. I am so proud of Providence staff and medical staff, and all that you do every single day. I am honoured to be surrounded by people who continue to do their best, to be determined, compassionate and innovative. I am deeply grateful for the expertise, commitment and resolve of people across this Providence family.”
Now in its 17th year, BC’s Top Employers is a special designation that recognizes the British Columbia employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. The editors at Canada’s Top 100 Employers used the same criteria as the national competition to evaluate employers throughout British Columbia. During the evaluation process, PHC was compared to other health organizations to determine which top employers had the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
Providence is proud to join our provincial health partners Fraser Health, Interior Health and Vancouver Coastal Health in being selected this year.
The full list of BC’s Top Employers for 2022 was announced Feb. 8, 2022 in a special magazine co-published with the Vancouver Sun.
