On behalf of the PHC Research Challenge Advisory Committee, funding for 15 diverse and dedicated teams of point-of-care clinicians has been announced in the 2021 cohort. Winning this year’s designated Person and Family Centred Care award is a team led by RN Kathy Le, pictured below with members of her team. We look forward to hearing more about this project as it moves forward, assisted by a Patient Family Partner advisor.

2021 marks the 11th year for the PHC Research Challenge program, which provides training, funding and mentorship for teams of clinicians to conduct small-scale research projects in their own clinical settings. More than 700 PHC clinicians have participated in 120 funded Research Challenge projects, which have resulted in practice changes, patient care improvements, 140 conference presentations and 19 publications. Kudos to the newly funded teams, and thanks to their mentors. Research Challenge sponsors and funders are listed here — we’re grateful for their ongoing support!
